SOFIA VINYL FEST
The first SOFIA VINYL FEST gathered together today in Sofia collectors and vendors of vinyl records from all over Bulgaria. The event took place on the terrace of the “Serdika“ Card at Zhenski Pazar Market.
About fifteen vendors from all over Bulgaria displayed their used and new vinyl records, and hundreds of music lovers of all ages gathered around the stalls.
The first edition of this fest gathered together true collectors, as well as fans of the old analogue sound. The driving forces behind this event were the municipal company „Vazrazhdane Markets“ EAD and the music club Terminal 1.
“Our ambition is that this fest becomes a tradition and that Zhenski Pazar Market keeps hosting such events, to transform this place from a mere food and green-groceries market to a cultural and social centre, as well. Today, together with our partners from Terminal 1, we managed to gather together vendors from Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Varna, Sofia and even from Serbia. And the fact that so many people showed up means that vinyl records have a serious fanbase in Bulgaria as well.“, said Dragomir Dimitrov, Executive Director of “Vazrazhdane Markets“.
The music for the fest was provided by four DJs, fans of the old analogue sound – the Plovdiv-based DJ and collector Skill, the Varna-based DJ Mad Bear, and the Sofia-based selectors Lazy Face and Rood.
