HUNDREDS OF MUSIC LOVERS VISITED THE FIRST SOFIA VINYL FEST AT ZHENSKI PAZAR MARKET
Used and new vinyl records were offered by over 15 vendors from all over Bulgaria
More than 15 vendors from all over Bulgaria displayed their used and new vinyl records at the first SOFIA VINYL FEST that took place on the terrace of the Serdika Gallery at Zhenski Pazar Market. Even before noon hundreds of music lovers from all ages visited the vinyl market and bought at least one new record each. The first fest of its kind attracted both true collectors and mere fans of the old analogue sound.
The driving forces behind this event were the municipal company „Vazrazhdane Markets“ EAD and the music club Terminal 1.
“Our ambition is that this fest becomes a tradition and that Zhenski Pazar Market keeps hosting such events, to transform this place from a mere food and green-groceries market to a cultural and social centre, as well. Today, together with our partners from Terminal 1, we managed to gather together vendors from Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Varna, Sofia and even from Serbia. And the fact that so many people showed up means that vinyl records have a serious fanbase in Bulgaria as well.“, said Dragomir Dimitrov, Executive Director of “Vazrazhdane Markets“ EAD.
The pleasant music, during the commercial marathon was courtesy of 4 of the most avid fans of the old analogue sound – the Plovdiv-based DJ and collector Skill, the Varna-based DJ Mad Bear, and the Sofia-based selectors Lazy Face and Rood.
Among the visitors was also one of the most ardent collectors of vinyl records Bogdan Tomov, who showed his most favourite Michael Franks record – Passion Fruits and of course, bough more valuable vinyl records for his enormous collection.
