Stolica.bg: A MODERN CCTV TO BE INSTALLED AT ZHENSKI PAZAR MARKET
A modern CCTV system will be installed at two of the most popular markets in Sofia, managed by “Vazrazhdane Markets“ – “Dimitar Petkov“ and Zhenski Pazar Market. Top-class cameras will be placed there, improving the security and safety of the shoppers and merchants. By the end of May, the new CCTV system should be completed and commissioned, reports Stolica.bg. Currently there is an ongoing procedure for the selection of the supplier for the equipment. The cameras will be of the highest class, because it is a matter of security, says Company’s director Dragomir Dimitrov, also noting that at the market there is an office of the 3rd Police Precinct.
The lighting of both markets has already been replaced, installing environmentally-friendly led lamps, as this also applies to the street lighting in the area. Director Dragomir Dimitrov and his team are ambitious in their plans to renovate both places. Zhenski Pazar Market is to become a place for shopping and social activities. It is already common knowledge that it hosts the Serdika Gallery, exhibiting works by contemporary artists. “We are keeping the main functions and the spirit of Zhenski Pazar Market, but we want also to make it a place, where people feel well and can spend their spare time“, explains his intentions the director of “Vazrazhdane Markets“. Withi its architecture, the location reminds of Old Sofia. Foreign tourists are also interested in Zhenski Pazar Market. Many agencies include this place in their sightseeing routes in Sofia. One of the oldest churches in Sofia – “Cyril and Methodius“ is also nearby. Just a few days ago “Vazrazhdane Markets“ signed a waste-collection agreement, and it has appointed inspectors to monitor the cleanliness of the area.
