„MARKET’S FACES“ – EXHIBITION НА TEO BONEV
The exhibition „Market’s Faces“ of the artist Teo Bonev was opened on 2 November 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the “Serdika“ Gallery, 90B, Tsar Samuil St, fl. 2 се откри.
Teodor Bonev was born in Sofia in 1959. He fished school, specializing in “Stone-cutting“ in the Village of Kunino, and then graduated from the Sofia Academy of Art in the class of Prof. Velichko Minekov. He is a member of the Union of French Artists.
The artist worked for many years on the French Caribbean island Saint Martin. Several years ago, he came back to Bulgaria for a short period of time and opened an engraving studio at Zhenski Pazar Market. Inspired by the people, he observed in the market, the creativity, fantasy and imagination of the children, who often visited his studio, he started painting their portraits. “Market’s Faces“ presents the emotional meetings of the artist with the people from the Zhenski Pazar Market and the market in Saint Martin. The exhibition may be seen between the 2 and the 30 October in the “Serdika“ Gallery.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Teodor Bonev was born in Sofia in 1959. He fished school, specializing in “Stone-cutting“ in the Village of Kunino, and then graduated from the Sofia Academy of Art in the class of Prof. Velichko Minekov. He is a member of the Union of French Artists.
In 1990 he left for the USA with his wife (and without visas), but on his way there, he stopped and settled illegally on the French Caribbean island Saint Martin. In 1992 he managed to legalize his stay and opened his own business for marble, bronze and architectural elements of cast stone. His investments in this business, made it possible to realize numerous public decorative and historical sculptured monuments. Inspired by the local Creole women, he sculptured multiple torsos of local black granite for private buyers, fond of art. He came back to Bulgaria for a short period of time and opened an engraving studio at Zhenski Pazar Market. Inspired by the people, he observed in the market, the creativity, fantasy and imagination of the children, who often visited his studio, Teodor Bonev started painting their portraits, which will be exhibited between 2 and 30 November in the Serdika Gallery within the exhibition “Market’s Faces“.
