Art Gallery “Serdica” presents Mihaela Zoeva with “INTIMATE WORLDS”

From 23 February 2022 Art Gallery “Serdica” will present “INTIMATE WORLDS” – Mihaela Zoeva’s fifth independent exhibition. New and never shown until now art works will be exhibited – extremely personal, intimate and defying censorship. They are painted spontaneously, in moments of shuttering personal experiences, Mihaela shares.
The artistic expression in the works is a direct one, pretenses-free, without any bright coloring and with the only, sometimes painful need of innermost communication with the “subconscious” and the reflection thereof in the real world. In their exquisite intensity and minimalism Mihaela Zoeva’s paintings remind of a short story, masterfully written using the drawing language, which doubtlessly all of us instinctively comprehend with no need of interpretation and explanations.
“I enjoy painting a naked body, using various techniques – acryl, charcoal, pastel, ink and foil on various papers and wood materials. The naked body is magnificent. The beauty, erotica and esthetics of the figures’ clear forms express and reflect my intimate inner world” the artist says and adds that she draws inspiration from the old masters and endeavors to get close to the ease of their artistic vigor and stroke.
“I like going back to ages gone, to observe the details in the clothing and the esthetics of the people from the past” she admits. Mihaela’s works are embodiment of the emotions the people feel in all the aspects of their life. “They often begin autobiographically, but the ideas behind each art work become universal very quickly” she also says.
The opening is 23 February (Wednesday) 2022 from 17:00 to 20:00 o’clock in compliance with any and all mandatory anti-epidemic measures.
